Winter’s Mystery

Winter is Nature’s shadow

Revealing the other side

Nothing is allowed to hide

  Leaves have left the trees

 Fullness moves into emptiness

Light gives way to darkness

All carrying a deep stillness demanding attention

Winter’s birthing of change burrowing underneath

The impulse of life persists

Emptiness and darkness

                                                           Essential for the new birth

Some hidden force reaching out for the light

Hungry to grow and nurture

The light gives way to darkness

Isolation and bareness fill the air

The only sounds heard in the emptiness

Is the cry to satisfy the hunger to know

Pulsating within

Waiting for the moment to come forth again

Is winter just another cycle

In this ever changing motion called life?

What seeds of possibilities hide in winter

Waiting to come forth?
